A thought to begin with: The Earth’s life over time is considerably longer than the life of man upon it. If we look at the period of man’s life on Earth and compare it to man’s access to electric light as we might look at night time photos of the Earth from satellites, it would probably look like the Earth is catching fire - especially in those places in which the most of mankind live.
